Double the Shakespeare

Double The Shakespeare

Performed live at the Warrenton Cultural Center
Friday, December 1st @ 7pm. Saturday, December 2nd @ 5pm. Sunday, December 3rd @ 3pm
The Area Children's Theatre (ACT) is open to all children & youth age 8-19
In #Hashtag Romeo, a modern high school adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Verona's rival high schools, the Montagues and Capulets, feud over a soccer match cancellation. Romeo, Montague's star striker, falls for Juliet, the Capulet cheerleader, igniting tensions and leading to a challenge from Ty. To quell the conflict, the couple plans a social media protest to unite the warring sides.

Meanwhile, in Shakespeare's Got Talent, a one-act TV show parody, Puck and the Fool host a panel of judges for skits featuring Shakespearean characters. Behind the scenes, Macbeth and Macduff add chaos as the stage manager and sound engineer. The show adds humor to Shakespearean tragedies, introducing students to the Bard's characters in a silly and entertaining way. It's a unique blend of classic literature and modern comedy that's sure to captivate audiences of all ages.
