Drama at the Diner

The summer of 2015 was the start of a new adventure within the ACT program.
ACT, sr. was born...
This is a project for ACTors 15-19 who would like to try their hand at directing.
Sarah Letteer, age 15, who has been with ACT in all but two plays, directed and produced her own play, "Drama at the Diner".

Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood

Shannon Bentley (ACTs I-XVI) directed this rollicking comedy with a cast of teenagers (15 & up). Her sister Lauren assisted her in this summer project, the second one of its kind for ACT. The cast and crew did a fabulous job and added some improv into the mix as well.

Almost Maine

Mycala Hilson directed this compilation of intertwined vignettes which gave us a glimpse into the art and the frustration, at times, of relationships. Some may have connected to more than one of the situations presented; no one walked away untouched, unmoved, or unimpressed.

Dr. Evil & the Basket of Kittens

Emily Kirland directed a play the entire family will get a kick out of. This dark funny farce, which pits the eternal battle of pure evil against innocent fuzzy goodness. Our main character, Dr. Evil wants to destroy the world, but when a basket of kittens arrives on his doorstep, it’s his own world that gets turned upside down!

It's a mystery...

Picture
Who poisoned the wealthy Emily Inglethorpe, and how did the murderer penetrate and escape from her locked bedroom? The brilliant Belgian detective Hercule Poirot makes his unforgettable debut in Jon Jory's dynamic adaptation of Agatha Christie's first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles.

Poirot, a Belgian refugee of the Great War, is settling in a small village in England near the remote country manor of Emily Inglethorpe, a friend who assisted him in starting his new life. Poirot's friend, Hastings, arrives as a guest at her home. When Emily is killed, Poirot uses his detective skills to solve the mystery of who killed her. Was it her fawning new husband, Alfred; her volatile housekeeper, Dorcas; her companion, Evelyn Howard; or was it Cynthia Murdoch, the pretty nurse who works in a nearby hospital dispensary?

Plot twists and red herrings abound in this fast-paced, dynamic and engaging new adaptation.
